How to do it

  1. Stand tall and take a long step BACKWARDS with one leg.
  2. Lower until your back knee almost touches the floor, chest upright.
  3. Push through your front leg to return. Alternate legs.

Common mistakes

  • Taking too short a step.
  • Leaning your torso forward.

Tips

  • Kinder on the knee than a forward lunge.
  • Hold a wall if balance is tricky.
