Wall handstand push-up
- Advanced
- Bodyweight
Head lowers between the hands, elbows back
Muscles worked
- Primary:
- Shoulders
- Secondary:
- Core, Triceps
How to do it
- Kick up to a handstand with your heels on the wall, hands slightly wider than shoulders.
- Bend your elbows until your head grazes the floor.
- Press back up to full extension.
Common mistakes
- Over-arching the back on the way down.
- Attempting it before owning the pike push-up.
Tips
- Calisthenics' overhead press: nothing builds shoulders faster without weights.
- Put a cushion under your head while you learn the range.
