Body straight, chest nearly to the floor

Muscles worked

Primary:
Chest
Secondary:
Shoulders, Triceps

How to do it

  1. Put your feet on the box and hands on the floor, slightly wider than your shoulders.
  2. Lower your chest to the floor keeping your body straight.
  3. Press up to full extension without letting the hips drop.

Common mistakes

  • Piking the hips to make it easier.
  • Only going halfway down.

Tips

  • Elevating the feet brings the shoulders and upper chest in much more.
  • The higher the box, the closer it gets to an overhead press.
