Banded push-up
- Intermediate
- Resistance band
Body rigid, elbows at 45°
Muscles worked
- Primary:
- Chest
- Secondary:
- Shoulders, Triceps
How to do it
- Loop the band across your upper back and pin the ends under your hands.
- Do the push-up with your body straight and hands slightly wider than your shoulders.
- Press to full extension against the band's tension.
Common mistakes
- Leaving the band slack, which adds nothing.
- Losing the hip line on the last reps.
Tips
- The band gets heavier the higher you go: it loads exactly where a push-up is easy.
- The cheapest way to keep progressing without a weighted vest.
