How to do it
- Set one foot in front and one behind, a long step apart, and stay there.
- Lower straight down until your back knee almost touches the floor.
- Come up. Finish your reps and switch legs.
Common mistakes
- Stepping between reps — your feet stay put.
- Leaning your torso.
Tips
- Staying in place makes it easier than a lunge and less demanding on balance.
- Put your back foot on a step to make it harder.
