How to do it

  1. Standing with feet together, take a wide step to one side.
  2. Bend that knee and push your hips back, keeping the other leg straight.
  3. Push through the bent leg to return to the centre.

Common mistakes

  • Letting your knee cave in.
  • Lifting the heel of the working leg.

Tips

  • Also trains the adductors, which most exercises miss.
  • Hold a dumbbell or kettlebell at your chest once it's easy.
