Arm behind the body, elbow still as you curl
Muscles worked
- Primary:
- Biceps
- Secondary:
- Forearms
How to do it
- Facing away from a low pulley, hold the handle in one hand and step forward until your arm is behind your body.
- Bend your elbow without moving it forward until your hand reaches your shoulder.
- Lower under control until your arm is fully straight.
Common mistakes
- Bringing the elbow forward and losing the stretch.
- Twisting your torso to help.
Tips
- With the arm behind the body the biceps works very stretched, a position that favours hypertrophy.
- Sets of 10-15 with control and a pause at the bottom.
