Muscles worked

Primary:
Glutes
Secondary:
Quads, Calves

How to do it

  1. Stand on one leg with a slight knee bend and your torso leaning a little forward.
  2. Jump sideways to the opposite side by pushing off the standing leg.
  3. Land on the other leg, absorb by sending your hips back and hold for a moment before jumping back.

Common mistakes

  • Letting the knee cave inward on landing.
  • Jumping so far that you cannot control the landing.

Tips

  • Master short distances with a pause first; then add distance and rhythm.
  • Very useful for sports with changes of direction: football, padel, basketball or skiing.
