How to do it

  1. Stand inside the bar with feet hip-width apart and grab the handles.
  2. With a neutral back and chest up, push the floor away until you stand tall.
  3. Lower under control, hips back and knees bent.

Common mistakes

  • Rounding your back off the floor.
  • Straightening your knees before your hips.

Tips

  • It usually loads the lower back less than a straight-bar deadlift.
  • Use the high handles if you lack mobility.
