How to do it
- Get into a high plank with your hands under your shoulders and your arms straight.
- Without bending your elbows, let your chest sink as your shoulder blades come together.
- Push the floor away, spreading your shoulder blades until your upper back rounds slightly, then return.
Common mistakes
- Bending the elbows and turning it into a short push-up.
- Letting your hips sag while you move your shoulder blades.
Tips
- Small but deliberate range: 10-15 slow reps.
- If it is hard, do it on your knees or with your hands on a bench.
