Lift the hips off the floor, not just the knees

Muscles worked

Primary:
Core

How to do it

  1. Lie on your back with knees bent and legs raised.
  2. Bring the knees toward the chest, lifting the hips off the floor.
  3. Lower under control.

Common mistakes

  • Using momentum by swinging the legs.
  • Lifting by inertia instead of the abs.

Tips

  • The move lifts the hips, not just the knees.
  • Control the lowering.
  • Easier on the lower back than the straight-leg raise.

Variations
