Band straight-arm pulldown
- Intermediate
- Resistance band
Straight arms: the movement comes from the lats
Muscles worked
- Primary:
- Back
- Secondary:
- Core
How to do it
- Anchor the band overhead and grip it with straight arms.
- Pull your hands down to your thighs without bending the elbows.
- Return slowly, feeling the lat stretch.
Common mistakes
- Bending the elbows and turning it into a normal pulldown.
- Leaning the torso forward to reach lower.
Tips
- Isolates the lat far better than a row, which shares work with the biceps.
- A step back from the anchor adds tension at the end range.
