Archer pull-up

  • Advanced
  • Pull-up bar
  • Unilateral

Pull toward one hand, other arm nearly straight

Muscles worked

Primary:
Back
Secondary:
Biceps

How to do it

  1. Hang with a very wide grip.
  2. Pull towards one hand while the other arm stays almost straight along the bar.
  3. Lower under control and switch sides on the next rep.

Common mistakes

  • Bending both arms equally (that's just a wide pull-up).
  • Trying it before you can do at least 10 strict pull-ups.

Tips

  • It's the step before the one-arm pull-up.
  • The straighter the assisting arm, the harder it gets.

Variations
