Chair dips

Shoulders down, elbows back as you lower
Muscles worked
- Primary:
- Triceps
- Secondary:
- Chest
How to do it
- Place two solid chairs shoulder-width apart and support yourself on your hands.
- Lower your body, bending your elbows backwards, until your shoulder reaches elbow height.
- Press back up.
Common mistakes
- Going too deep and straining the shoulder.
- Flaring your elbows out to the sides.
Tips
- Check the chairs do not slide before you start.
- Too hard? Put your feet on the floor with bent knees.
- With your body suspended it is as hard as parallel-bar dips; bench dips (feet on the floor) are the easy version.
